Craig Schneider – Owner / Senior Property Manager
Craig graduated from USM in 1994 with a BA in Psychology with a concentration in Industrial Psychology. He started investing in real estate in 1998 and he has owned over 100 Units. In the past 15 years Craig has managed, bought and sold investment and rental properties in Maine. Craig has set record sales in the market place because his buildings are astoundingly profitable. Craig is known in the Maine rental market for providing high quality properties with profitable rents. In past years of owning investment properties, he had a Maine property management company assisting him. After working with this company, Craig has developed the skills and qualities required of a property manager. Most importantly, Craig has seen and experienced the property management relationship from the client and and building owner perspective. Craig believes there are 4 components in a good business practice Communication, Expectation, Follow-up and Follow- through. Craig can promise you he will apply these 4 business practices and that he will treat your buildings like they were his own.
Melissa K. – Office Manager
Melissa graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Family Studies. Having lived in NH all her life, she moved to Portland, Maine after graduating to live with her partner, a student at MECA, and to experience living somewhere new. She began working for Schneider Property Management in the spring of 2011. Initially, she worked as a front desk agent and out on the road showing apartments. Over time she used her positive attitude and enthusiasm for the job to work her way up and take over more responsibilities. Today, she is the office manager and oversees the general day-to-day business including, but not limited to: leasing, owner and tenant correspondence and maintenance scheduling. In fall of 2015, using the knowledge and interest she gained at SPM, she purchased her own multi-family in Westbrook where she now lives with her husband and daughter, with plans to buy another in the future.
Kelly – Bookkeeper
Born and raised in Vermont, Kelly moved to Maine for college, fell in love with the state, and decided to stay long-term. Kelly has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maine and worked as a teacher in the city of Portland before switching fields and joining the Schneider Property Management, LLC team in the Fall of 2016. Initially, she worked as a front desk and showing agent before transitioning to writing leases, and then to bookkeeping in the Spring of 2020. At the office, Kelly has the responsibility of collecting tenant rents and client payments, as well as invoicing, paying vendors, and sending monthly reports to clients. In addition to this, Kelly is responsible for keeping our subcontractors’ insurance, W-9, and workers compensation policies on file and current. She communicates primarily with current tenants and clients via phone and email regarding questions about their payments, invoicing, and billing.
Elizabeth – Leasing Agent
Elizabeth is a graduate of Stetson University in FL with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications and media studies. Born and raised in Maine, she is very familiar with all that Maine has to offer and is able to give insight to potential tenants about what they can expect when relocating. With a lifelong interest in the housing market and interior design, she completed an internship the summer before her senior year with Schneider Property Management and returned after graduating to pick up where she left off as a full-time employee. When she’s not doing showings, Elizabeth works with all the new tenants by writing leases, coordinating move-ins, and ensuring that all tenant files are up to date. She is also responsible for social media which includes posting the ads for all our vacant units. She is best reached by email or phone at the office.
Melissa B. – Assistant Property Manager
Melissa graduated from the University of Maine in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. Melissa moved to Southern Maine from the greater Bangor area in the summer of 2019. She is out of the office showing properties to perspective tenants much of the day so is best reached by email. When in the office, her duties involve running credit and background checks, putting together applications, and other office tasks.
Eliza – Assistant Property Manager
Eliza is from North Yarmouth and attended the University of Maine where she studied communications and professional and technical writing. She recently bought a house in Brunswick with her boyfriend and is enjoying the renovation projects. Through that process, she found an interest in real estate and is excited to start her career in property management. Some of her favorite hobbies out of the office include reading, gardening, going to the beach, cooking, and photography.
